Mercantile Exchange of Vietnam (MXV) cooperates with Banking Academy to co-organize the Seminar "Challenges and Opportunities for Trading Comodities Derivatives in Vietnam"
As the only national centralized commodity trading market organizer in Vietnam, realizing the importance of market training; The Mercantile has been constantly conducting many training operations for the national market.
Within the framework of the cooperation program between Vietnam Commodity Exchange and Banking Academy; in collaboration with the Faculty of Banking, Research and Education Center, Mercantile Exchange of Vietnam held a seminar "Challenges and Opportunities for Trading Comodities Derivatives in Vietnam" held a seminar on March 28.
Participating in the seminar, on the side of Mercantile Exchange of Vietnam, there were Mr. Nguyen Duc Dung - Deputy General Director, Director of the Research and Education Center; Mr. Nguyen Van Tan – Director of Risk Management Department and Ms. Dinh Thuy Duong - In charge of Research and Education Center. On the business side, there was Mr. Nguyen Minh Tuan - Deputy Director of Investplus Commodity Brokerage and Investment Joint Stock Company – a trading member of MXV.
Representatives of Banking Academy with the participation of Dr. Vu Thi Kim Oanh, Deputy Head of Banking Administration Department, Faculty of Banking, and top lecturers of Banking Faculty: MSc. Do Thu Hang, MSc. Bui Huy Trung, Mr. Nguyen Thi Thu Trang, MSc. Dao My Hang.
The seminar attracted nearly 300 academy students because of the knowledge and information provided by experts. The content of the talk includes two main topics. Part 1 of “Challenges and Opportunities for Trading Comodities Derivatives in Vietnam" shared by Mr. Nguyen Van Tan. Mr. Nguyen Minh Tuan shared about "History of financial derivatives market formation and current status quo" applied” in part 2 of the program.
In particular, the Q&A session was attended by students with great enthusiasm. After being provided by two experts with an overview of the commodity trading market, from which to further analyze the object, composition and potential of this market; Banking Academy students had a lot of questions sent to the experts. The practical and convincing answers from experts have helped the students have deeply understanding of Mercantile Exchange of Vietnam in particular, the commodity market in general, as well as the arouse inspiration desire to learn about derivatives.
After the talk, Dr. Vu Thi Kim Oanh expressed her delight at the cooperation program between MXV and the Academy in general, and the success of the seminar in particular. According to her, this is a valuable opportunity for students to have access to practical knowledge brought by experts, in addition to the theory learned at the Academy. Besides, from the content of the seminar, the students will have a clearer view of the opportunity to practice and work in the commodity trading industry.
Mr. Nguyen Duc Dung said that Mercantile Exchange of Vietnam as well as the Research and Education Center are ready to welcome students with knowledge, passion and desire to pursue the commodity field at the Department of Commodities. The success of the Seminar promises to open up new developments in the long-term and sustainable cooperation between MXV and the Banking Academy.
